July 4, 1919 Early British Dirigible and the Woolworth Building



The British airship R34 made the first transatlantic flight to Mineola Long Island in July 1919 and the Daily News printed its photo end to end to compare its size with the Woolworth Building, then the tallest skyscraper in the city.
